I've been asked to share some of my past artwork on here. I was never great, but I was not too shabby in high school.
I'm hoping to take 🎨 back up this summer and attempt some more abstract work. Anyway, for those interested, here is a 🧵 of some of my pieces:
First, my banner is the National Cathedral, one of my favorites:
This one's pretty recent (10 years ago?), and is the house my wife's mother grew up in Shamokin, PA. I like the trim, the tree not so much.
A couple of simple sketches: 1) the old train station here in Cambria 2) the @jayhawks album cover, Hollywood Hall:
Egg tempura rendition of a famous renaissance painting, forget which one. I do remember the smell.
A couple of studies of my friend, Tim:
A still life, and then one Walt Bartman, my teacher liked. Fun fact: I once had to take the second one down off my (eastward) dorm room wall so that my Muslim friend could say his prayers.
Rock 'em Sock 'em!
Here's my parents' farm house in Middletown, MD, painted purposely in a folk style, thick with paint:
I really like this one, drawn in just a few motions. For once, I knew when to stop.
Finally, one of my ugliest pieces, a small protest against an assignment to paint my high school, Walt Whitman.
That’s it. If you opened this, I hope you enjoyed. If you didn’t, well, it was only a few seconds worth of scrolling. Blessings to all.
